Here's Looking at You, Kid.

Here's to sophomore year. Here's to long nights of studying - or finding excuses to not study. Here's to far too many disoriented blogs filled with incessant ramblings of a slightly detatched mind. Here's looking at you, kid. Cheers.

start to finish.

Why hello, dear Blog. I have not seen you in quite some time! My fault, I know.

*Sigh* My life in the past two weeks = not exciting. Let's recap:

Registered for classes. That is seriously one of the most stressful things to do in the world. Got into all classes except speech, which I'm thoroughly confused about - every one of the 20+ speech classes were closed... what?!

Got a B on an Econ test. Fantastic, and such a relief.

Need at least an 87 on next Psych test to avoid the final.

Had a birthday (thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone!) Went to Spaghetti Warehouse with friends(pictures below). Hung out and swung to some Sinatra. We also played Pretty Pretty Princess.

Watched "In the Land of Women" and "Grindhouse" (but I might have already mentioned "Grindhouse"). Movie reviews coming soon.

Created a 10-minute dialogue between three people in Italian w/partners. Fun fun fun.

Dropped my cell phone.

Studied for hours, and hours, on end.

Forgot to buy an umbrella in preparation for the rainy week ahead.

Took a nap by the Turtle Pond on an amazingly beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Organized my LIFE.

Read a few books. _The Alchemist_ by Paulo Coelho, _shopgirl_ by Steve Martin, and _Oh, the Places You'll Go!_ by Dr. Seuss (great book!)

Spazzed out about the week ahead (Italian speaking exam, Business presentation, Psych test, etc.)

Took lots of deep breaths and recovered from that last thought.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS/PERSONAL THEORIES AHEAD FOR GREY'S (skip the next few lines if you don't wanna know):
Watched Grey's Anatomy and discussed possible cliffhangers for the season finale, including: Unknown "bad thing" happening to Cristina just before the wedding, causing Burke to believe that she left him hanging. Burke leaving Cristina at the alter in a cruel twist of fate. Callie moving to a different hospital instead of George. A helicopter crashing directly in front of the hospital and directly on top of McDreamy for being such a jerk to Meredith. Wait, that one was ER.

END OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

Found out that Veronica Mars is returning on Tuesday. Flipping sweet!!!

Bought tickets for a midnight showing of Spiderman 3 at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Dropped my cell phone again.

Excited about First Thursday and an amazing adventure on S. Congress.

Realized the inevitable - procrastination will set in, esp. Tuesday night at 8 p.m.

Okay, with all that being said, I am going to post some pictures, then curse the fact that grass pollen is thick in the air, then praise the Lord for the great weather (ironic? whatever). Here's some fun pictures from my birthday expedition to Spaghetti Warehouse and another trip to Kerbey Lane, with taglines.

the kerbey lane queso story: death by college students.

key lime pie is amazing.

me and steph being silly and taking pictures upside-down.

just before heading to dinner...

spaghetti warehouse!!!

more spaghetti warehouse!

waitress, to me: oh my god, i love your dress! it makes me want to shave my legs!

end.

Watch the news, read the news, know the news.

I was going to write about my weekend, but that'll have to wait. In the meantime, if you don't already know about the shooting at Virginia Tech, dubbed "the deadliest school attack in U.S. history", you should find out what happened.

This is absolutely appalling, that someone would ever do such a thing. Is there really that much of a gaping, unattended, unrealized need for more love in this world that someone would go this far, to spend their time spreading chaos and unbearable sadness and even death? It's sickening and incredible and just downright evil... It's unbelievable - VT and the victims and their friends and their families and such an infinite number of people are each affected by this one largely stupid and twisted decision. I'll be keeping them all in my thoughts, in my prayers, and in my heart.

Should I?

http://www.utla.utexas.edu/index.php

This program seems really interesting, especially since I would LOVE to break into the entertainment biz (as a business major still, of course... none of this acting stuff for me). Still, I'm not sure if I want to apply for it or not - of course, if I did get accepted, I could always turn it down. If I didn't get accepted, no harm done. Right?

Studying abroad is something I'd LOVE to do, too. But it seems so impossible for me to study abroad and still get an internship/job and finish all my coursework as a BHP and Management major and graduate in four years. Is it possible? Should I try?

And another thing... Road Trip Nation really sparked my interest a few months back, too. I'd LOVE to have an experience like that someday - driving around the country with however many other people in an RV and chatting with major business people all over the place... haha, sounds like a trip to me.

How in the WORLD would I ever get to do all of this (assuming I applied to each and got accepted) and STILL graduate on time with the degree and job that I want?

Gah.

Hello again.

Happy belated Easter, everyone. Whoo.

Well, the apartment search continues. My roommate is liking the Far West stuff, so I'm betting that's where we end up. On the school front: I'm sooooo excited about the end of the semester. I'm so ready to be done with Econ. Blech. My classes for next semester are looking uniformly business-related; haha, guess that comes with the major and whatnot. Well, actually there is ITL 312K, if I decide to keep up with a couple more semesters of Italian. So yeah. That's all fine and dandy...

I've started writing a book. Well, I've started writing what will probably turn out to be a book. Yep. That should be interesting. More on that at a later point in time.

The Glorious Release

Sweet, sweet release; I can see you in thy glory. O dreaded school work, how I do not miss thee. Let me count the ways:
One paper is done with, never to be thought of again.
One speaking exam has come and passed, as I passed with a blessed A.
One exam on the child's mind is over, ending with another blessed A.
One hand-wringing presentation is complete, and anxiety vexs me no longer.
Yet still, the effort required of mine own self is needed. There remains a Long and Treacherous Journey ahead, and its devious companions are Lengthy Reports and Group Projects.
How I loathe the weeks ahead. I can do nothing but eagerly await the glorious release.
