Here's Looking at You, Kid.

Here's to sophomore year. Here's to long nights of studying - or finding excuses to not study. Here's to far too many disoriented blogs filled with incessant ramblings of a slightly detatched mind. Here's looking at you, kid. Cheers.

Fantastic...

Wow. It's 10:24 a.m. I must've shut off my alarm in my sleep. I've now officially missed management and MIS for today. Oh well. There's always next week.

Happy Halloween, everyone! Have a spook-tacular day! (Laaaaame.)

Well.

Well, well. Congratulations, Denise. You slept half of Sunday away, and you didn't get hardly any shut-eye for today. Monday. Mean, mean Monday. At least you did your homework.

I'm very tired right now, to say the least. Getting up this morning was a major accomplishment in my eyes. Not that I stayed up late doing homework or anything - I was definitely just catching up on the past two weeks of Heroes. Another lesson learned: don't sacrifice sleep for a TV show. Ever. But Heroes was pretty amazing, I must say. Kristen Bell has finally shown up, and her character is sure as hell a bad guy. This'll be quite a change, watching Bell in the bad guy's role instead of the sassy sleuth on Veronica Mars. Exciting!

Anyway, this past week was eventful. The UT-Nebraska game was pretty awesome after the 3rd quarter. Jamaal Charles is my football hero for running 86-yards for a TD. Yay! I went to a friend's birthday bash - complete with costumes. The party was themed, "Ninjas, Pirates, and Lumberjacks", so naturally everyone dressed accordingly. I (with the help of some dear, dedicated friends) put together one kick-ass pirate outfit... I even handed out little gold coins all night (I told people that the person with most coins at the end of the night would get to go to the "Hidden Temple" for a chance to put together the Silver Monkey). While I was on campus on Friday, I overheard a very, very scandalous conversation, which I will NOT repeat here.

All you Grey's fans out there... wasn't last week's episode absolutely FANTASTIC?! I loved it. I can't wait for this week's.

Wait, I won't see it this week. Dang! I'll just have to record it. Instead of watching Grey's this week, I'll be going to see Frank Warren of PostSecret giving a lecture. If you don't know what PostSecret is, check it out. Someone was seriously thinking outside the box when they came up with this, and I'm gonna find out why on Thursday.

That's all from me for now. Keep your eyes peeled for a super-ultra-mega-movie reviews post coming soon!

That really just happened.

All right. I'm officially here to bring everyone who reads this up-to-date on my life.
Summer recap:
- Took Government and English at BC; for the first half of the summer, I actually got up super-early (i.e. 7 a.m.-ish). That was exciting, and now it's over.
- Got promoted to Chief of Staff at the theater that I worked at. That was also exciting, and now it's also over.
- HP, Book 7 hit stores. I read it in about two days - hey, the electricity went out at my house, and I had nothing to do for almost 11 hours. Plus, it was pretty much my favortie HP book. And Dumbledore was apparently gay (see previous post).
- Met the real-life James Potter. I kid you not. Heh, he's actually nothing like the character. Go figure. But seriously, he's an awesome guy.
- Mom thought I was pregnant again... not really, but that would've been funny. Again.
Semester-to-date:
- Moved into my first apartment. Management is... less adequate than I expected of an apartment complex.
- Went to ACL. Saw AMAZING performances by: Kaiser Chiefs (the guy climbed up the stage scaffolding), Damien Rice (W-H-O-A!), and Muse (heck yes!!!). Also, on Day 1, a propane tank or something exploded on the festival grounds, but they just made us step back. Ha.
- Karaoked for Caroline's birthday. That was a LOT of fun, guys. Seriously, check that stuff out, 'cause it's a blast!
- Went to my first (and last) homecoming football game. Ha.
- Survived a grueling week of testing... barely. I'm officially in the "sophomore slump", where I pretty much hate college/homework/tests right now.
- James and Tony visited us in Austin, and we made a trip to the Greenbelt. Another truly amazing place to go in Austin.
- Discovered the incredible eats at Milto's.
- Made one trip back to my hometown. Didn't get to see my parents hardly at all because my brother was in an accident, and they came to Austin that weekend to see him.
- Got hit WAY hard by allergies (freaking grass pollen...). That ordeal turned into a very mild sinus infection w/o me knowing it. I finally went to UHS and got some meds to help me. Now, I'm feeling much, much better. :D

So, yeah. That's about it. There's my life in the past six months, condensed version.

Quote of the Day (Dialogue?):
Three friends and I are sitting in the Jester West lobby playing poker. Guy in a banana suit walks past.
Me: Please tell me you just saw a giant banana walk by...
Friends turn to look.
Friends: Wow. That really just happened.

Dumbledore is gay?!

Just found this story online. If you're a HP fan, check it out.

Also, since I promised a post earlier this week, I'll be back later tonight for a nice, hearty helping of Denise's life. Stay tuned, all you loyal viewers.

I'm back again.

Hello, all.

I know I haven't posted in... *counts on fingers*... five months or so, but here I am! If you actually still check this in hopes of me someday making a long-awaited entry, rest easy! For Denise is back.

This entry is gonna be pretty short - I'm mainly here to let you know that I will be posting on a semi-regular basis (probably once a week, more if I feel like it) from now on. You will all know the inner-workings of my mind very soon...

But you won't find out much today. I'm sick - and have been for the past couple weeks - so I'm pretty worn out. Allergies + the Common Cold = Misery. I've been doing homework for the past 4 hours, and I'm so ready for some sleep. Hey, when you're taking three different medications, hoping one of them will make you feel somewhat better, you can get really tired, really fast.

That's it for now. Look for another post in a couple days.
